If websites load, ignore “IPv6: No network access”. Many ISPs and routers don't offer IPv6. If IPv4 also shows “No internet access”, restart the router, renew your IP and reset the network stack.

The short explanation

Windows checks IPv4 and IPv6 separately. Most traffic still uses IPv4, so IPv6 being unavailable doesn't stop browsing. Only an IPv4 problem, or an IPv6-only network that's broken, actually cuts your internet.

Symptoms

  • Adapter Status shows IPv6 Connectivity: No network access.
  • IPv4 Connectivity: No internet access (real problem).

What causes it

  • ISP or router doesn't provide IPv6 (harmless).
  • IPv4 DHCP or gateway failure.
  • Damaged network settings.

Try these fixes

  1. Check if websites workIf they do, no action needed for IPv6.
  2. Fix IPv4 problemsRestart the router; run the reset commands below; restart.
  3. Check router IPv6If you want IPv6, enable it in router settings (if your ISP supports it).
  4. Don't disable IPv6 blindlyMicrosoft recommends leaving IPv6 enabled; turning it off can break some Windows features.

Command

netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

Elevated Command Prompt; restart afterwards.

How to tell it worked: IPv4 Connectivity shows Internet, and websites load.

Avoiding it in future

Keep router firmware updated.
