Press Win+R, run wsreset.exe, check date, time and region are correct, sign out of the Store and back in, then reset the Store app in Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Microsoft Store → Advanced options → Reset.

Why this happens

The Store relies on its cache, your Microsoft account, Windows Update services and accurate time. If any of these break, it fails to load or install. wsreset clears the cache without removing apps.

How it shows up

  • Store opens to a blank page or closes immediately.
  • Downloads stay “Pending” or fail with an error code.
  • “Try that again” or “Something happened on our end”.

What causes it

  • Corrupted Store cache.
  • Wrong date, time or region.
  • Account sign-in problems.
  • Windows Update or BITS services disabled.

How to fix it, step by step

  1. Run wsresetPress Win+R, type wsreset.exe and press Enter; the Store reopens when done.
  2. Fix date, time and regionSet time automatically and make sure Time & language → Language & region → Country or region is correct.
  3. Sign out and inIn the Store, click your profile → Sign out, then sign in again.
  4. Repair or reset the appSettings → Apps → Installed apps → Microsoft Store → ⋯ → Advanced options → Repair, then Reset.
  5. Check servicesMake sure Windows Update and Background Intelligent Transfer Service are not disabled.
  6. Re-register the StoreIn an admin PowerShell run the command below, then restart.

Command

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers Microsoft.WindowsStore | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Windows PowerShell (Admin). Re-registers the Store app without deleting your installed apps.

How to confirm the fix: The Store opens and an app downloads and installs.
