For one site: click the blocked pop-up icon at the right of the address bar → Always allow pop-ups and redirects from [site] → Done. For all sites: chrome://settings/content/popups → Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects.

Why this happens

Pop-up blocking stops intrusive ads and redirect tricks, so turning it off everywhere isn’t recommended. Chrome lets you add specific sites to an allow list instead.

If pop-ups are still blocked after allowing them, an extension (ad blocker) or an organisation policy may be blocking them.

What you'll see

  • “Pop-up blocked” icon in the address bar.
  • Payment, login or document windows don't open.
  • A site tells you to disable your pop-up blocker.

Common causes

  • Chrome's default pop-up blocking.
  • Ad-block extensions or managed browser policies.

How to fix it

  1. Allow one site from the address barClick the pop-up blocked icon → Always allow pop-ups and redirects from… → Done, then reload.
  2. Manage allowed siteschrome://settings/content/popups → Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects → Add and enter the site.
  3. Allow all (not recommended)On the same page choose Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects.
  4. AndroidChrome → ⋮ → Settings → Site settings → Pop-ups and redirects → toggle On.
  5. Check extensionsPause ad blockers for the site if pop-ups still don't open.
How to confirm the fix: The site's pop-up window opens normally.

Stop it happening again

Allow pop-ups per site instead of globally.
