iPhone/iPad: Settings → Apps → Safari → Advanced → turn off Block All Cookies. Mac: Safari → Settings → Privacy → untick Block all cookies. Leave Prevent cross-site tracking on unless a sign-in still fails.

What's going on

Cookies store sign-ins, shopping carts and preferences. Safari’s Block All Cookies setting breaks most sign-ins. Prevent cross-site tracking blocks third-party trackers and only occasionally breaks embedded logins (such as some payment or school portals).

Chrome on iPhone uses its own setting and isn’t affected by Safari’s switch.

What you'll see

  • “Cookies are disabled” or “Please enable cookies” messages.
  • Sites keep signing you out.
  • Shopping carts empty themselves.

Common causes

  • Block All Cookies turned on.
  • Screen Time content restrictions or a content blocker.

How to fix it

  1. iPhone/iPad SafariSettings → Apps → Safari → Advanced (older iOS: Settings → Safari → Advanced) → turn off Block All Cookies.
  2. Mac SafariSafari → Settings → Privacy → untick Block all cookies.
  3. If one sign-in still failsTemporarily turn off Prevent Cross-Site Tracking, sign in, then turn it back on.
  4. Chrome on iPhoneChrome on iPhone uses Apple's WebKit engine and has no separate cookie switch. If a site still fails, clear its data via ⋯ → Delete browsing data, then sign in again.
  5. Check Screen TimeSettings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions may lock Safari settings.
Check it's fixed: The site stops showing the cookies warning and keeps you signed in.

Stop it happening again

Keep Block All Cookies off and use Prevent Cross-Site Tracking for privacy.
